Handpan: Finding Your Voice June 7th at The Emerald Tea House in Jacksonville, FL
All levels of handpan experience welcome
Bring your own handpan in any scale! A limited number of handpans are available to those who need one at a small additional cost.
Registration required.
Join us as we explore the handpan and how it can be used as a tool to support spoken expression. From storytelling, reciting poetry, singing, humming, or even just talking, the handpan can be a beautiful accompaniment.
This will be a light, fun, and gentle musical experience. Self expression in a judgment free zone is the number one goal. Every activity is an invitation, and you can participate as much or as little as you’d like when we open the floor for sharing. You can be serious or silly!
~Start with a brief introduction to the handpan
~Learn basic playing techniques
~Practice speaking while playing simple notes or chord progressions
~Practicing singing or humming in harmony with the handpan
~Supporting each others’ voices with handpan accompaniment
~Breakdown of exercises and practices you can do at home with or without the handpan
~Voluntary group share
~Q&A
