Join us for a weekend of connection and reunion at The Hostel in the Forest in Brunswick, Georgia. Tucked away on 133 acres of lush coastal wetlands, the Hostel is a legendary sanctuary known for its winding trails, organic gardens, and iconic geodesic domes and treehouses. Unplug from the world and rewild your soul under a canopy of ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss. Take a dip in the pond, row a canoe while a friend plays the handpan as you drift upon the water, and play handpan in the glass house while surrounded by paintings of deities from around the world.
Soundscape Gathering is a union and a reunion as we meld players from years past and friends newer to the handpan scene. We invite you to this rejuvenating, care free handpan experience where you can be yourself.
What to Expect:
Easy-Going Workshops and Jam Sessions: No strict schedules or intimidating masterclasses. Our sessions focus on the joy of play and connection. Play around the campfire or find yourself in jam circles in the glass house or on the porch.
Forest Open Mics: Share your sound with the group in the geodesic dome library. Our open mics are low-stress spaces where every note is celebrated, perfectly complemented by the sounds of the surrounding forest.
Communal Connection: In the true spirit of the Hostel, we’ll share lunch and nightly family-style vegetarian meals (included with your stay) and spend our downtime swimming in the lake, walking the stone labyrinth, or simply jamming in the trees.
The Venue Experience: Please note that the Hostel is a rustic, eco-friendly retreat. Accommodations include shared bunks or private treehouses with no AC or heat—just the natural breeze and the rhythms of the forest. Late May is a comfortable time of year where it isn’t too hot, and not too cold. Be prepared for composting toilets, private outdoor showers or tub, and a complete break from technology (no Wi-Fi, no electronics in communal areas).
Come as you are, bring your handpan, and let’s reconnect in the forest.
22 spots are available. First come first serve. Attendees to provide all bedding! All housing is onsite (camping not available). Accommodations include: a spot in a bunk style or private 2 person treehouses. Every ticket is the same price. The price for private options reflecting total occupancy – great for couples or friends (2 people, 2 tickets).
