Handpan Deposit
This is a $500 deposit to order a custom handpan. Whether you’ve already completed the form on the Custom Order page, or you’ve just landed here, paying for the deposit earns you a place in line for a custom handpan!
Please visit the Custom Order page for more information on this process.
Terms and Conditions
By paying your deposit, you acknowledge and agree to the policies outlined below.
1. Custom Orders & Design Changes
Order Modifications: Requests to change scale, tuning, or design specs for a custom order must be made before the build process begins. Once handcrafting on your instrument has started, changes may no longer be possible.
2. Deposits & Final Payments
Non-Refundable Deposits: Deposits for custom orders are non-refundable, as they cover the baseline cost of materials and labor required to create your instrument.
Payment Deadline: Final payment is due within 30 days of your instrument’s completion, unless a longer payment period has been explicitly agreed upon in writing.
Processing Fees: Credit card and online payment processing fees incurred by Ensophonic Arts may be added to your final bill as a surcharge.
How to avoid fees: Pay via Zelle, wire transfer, bank check, or Venmo (using "sending money to a friend").
3. Shipping & Recipient Verification
Authorized Recipient: For security and fraud prevention, instruments must be addressed and shipped directly to the person who paid for the order.
Third-Party Shipping: To ship to a different recipient or address, the original payer must submit a signed written letter along with a copy of a valid photo ID authorizing the alternative delivery.
4. Shipping Insurance & Liability
Optional Shipping Insurance: Buyers may opt to add shipping insurance to their package for a flat rate of $35.
Liability Disclaimer: If shipping insurance is declined or not purchased, Ensophonic Arts assumes no liability and is not responsible for resolving issues regarding lost, stolen, or damaged packages once the instrument leaves our shop.
5. Returns & Exchanges
Ensophonic Arts does not accept returns. However, we offer exchanges under the following conditions within 14 days of receipt:
Pre-made Instruments: May be exchanged for another pre-made or custom instrument of equal or greater value (buyer covers any price difference).
Custom Instruments: Eligible for exchange except for instruments with bottom notes or non-standard tunings (e.g., 432 Hz).
Exchange Fees & Shipping:
Buyers are responsible for all round-trip shipping costs.
A $100–$175 retuning fee applies to all exchanged instruments (fee depends on the specific instrument and scale).
6. Natural Material Notice
Steel is an organic, dynamic material. While we strive for absolute visual consistency, natural variations in color and patina can occur during the handcrafting process. These natural surface variations are purely aesthetic and do not affect the sound, resonance, or structural quality of your instrument.
